Congratulations! I'm looking forward to reading your piece. Incidently, Dave Eggers is doing more than anyone else to help previously unpublished writers be published. He had earned our appreciation.

Zach - I read in the current issue of U.S. News about your experiences after coming home. Thank you for telling us, it it crucial that we all know the reality of soldiers' reactions to civilian after their experience in war.

One more question.
Just like anonymous asked in the previous blog,
Where's Hurria?
I too have wondered why he hasn't posted anything for a while.

Zach, your style of writing is soo distinctive. When I first read your blog-july05- I was struck by how it reminded me of "Letters from 'Nam". And then I read your archives, and like the posts in the book, you tap into and relate the REAL horrors of war better than anyone I have ever read. Congrats for what I believe is just the beginning of an amazing and deserved future in published writings.

Please know that I am recommending the book and your work (and now blog) in particular to friends and family. Best of luck and please continue writing,

I found your piece in the Best American Non Required Reading 2006 very insightful and refreshing. An imperative perspective in war discourse, i think. Keep up the good work!
